Dear Friends,
While I was visiting Wilmington, North Carolina, last week, I met with Shane Fernando, the Director of the Wilson Performing Arts Center where my mother's sculptures are displayed throughout the Center. (See below)
Shane shared with me that the Kyiv City Ballet would begin their 12-city USA tour at the Wilson Center in September. According to organizers, members of the Kyiv City Ballet took one of the last flights out of Ukraine in February, a day before Russia invaded the country.
While walking around the lobby I met two docents who shared with me that everyone has their photo taken in front of my mother's floor sculpture titled Entrance to the Enchanted Castle, 1993 (14’ 7” x 15’ 30”.
How cool would it be to have the Kyiv City ballet troupe take a group photo in the Wilson Center Lobby under the starbursts and in front of Entrance to the Enchanted Castle.
